2024-2025 Highlights

The latest edition of Genium360's annual compensation survey found that the average base salary of engineering professionals rose by 3.2% between 2023 and 2024, to $127,314. While this represents a significant increase, the percentage dropped by almost half compared to last year, when wages rose by 6.1%. In Québec, the consumer price index for the same period rose by 4.5%, meaning that the purchasing power of engineering professionals declined slightly. In terms of good news, the pay gap between men and women continues to shrink.

The 2024 survey was open from April 10 to May 5. In addition to salary and benefits information, the 2024-2025 survey focused on the impact of labour shortages on employment conditions, employee attraction and retention, and mental health in the workplace.
