Engineering is an opportunity for me to use my analytical and creative mind to innovate and create the non-existent, for issues as diverse as economic efficiency, social progress and environmental protection.

I wish to contribute to making Genium360 a key player through the development of services and partnerships that meet the needs and values of its members. Thus, with my peers on the board of directors and the permanent staff, I want to collaborate by offering my expertise and experience in management and information technology to ensure the realization of the strategic plan and the sustainability of the organization.

Why Engineering?

I have always loved math and science, so engineering was a natural choice for me. My Contribution to Genium360

With a long experience in the practice of law, but especially in governance and ethics and human resources, as well as a consultant to organizations and as a member of boards of directors, the challenge of joining the Board of Genium360 appeals to me greatly. Genium360 is entering a new strategic cycle with the goal of putting the member at the heart of all its actions. Most of my career has been spent in organizations that put the member at the heart of their activities. It is this challenge of participating in the redefinition of member services and how to create a strong sense of trust and belonging to Genium360, both with members and the engineering community, that appeals to me most. Genium360 is well positioned to achieve its ambitions and has a dedicated team of professionals in place with whom I look forward to working.

Why choose engineering?

I chose engineering because, for me, combining knowledge and technology was the best way to contribute to improving our society. It was, and still is, the best avenue for transforming everything that research, science and theory have to offer into concrete means and tools to make improvements and positive change in our everyday lives. Engineering has great potential, but with it comes great responsibility, and this has always been a great source of motivation and inspiration for me.

My contribution to Genium360

I'm just starting out with Genium360. First of all, I hope to be able to contribute my knowledge as well as my professional and management experience. As a member, I've had the opportunity on several occasions to benefit from the services, activities, training and promotions offered by Genium360, and I intend to contribute actively to continued improvement in these services, particularly by reaching a greater number of engineers working in every region of Québec and of every generation. It's quite a challenge to meet everyone's ever-changing expectations, but it's a challenge that's entirely achievable, and one that we must rise to with flying colours!

Why get involved with Genium360?

Since the start of my professional career, I've always been involved in various activities to help move my sector forward, mainly in terms of governance. I was fortunate to have a network of peers and industry leaders who helped me achieve my goals. What's more, I've worked in several Québec engineering firms and I'm fascinated by the technological advances and know-how we have, and I've been able to bridge the gap between my finance background and the engineering community.

I'd like to give professionals and especially engineering students this opportunity to put forward their creative ideas and create a winning environment so they can stimulate innovation and development in our society. Genium360 is the ideal organization to get close to these professionals, network with them and make a real difference to support the development of our society.

As a member of Geniun360's Board of Directors, I will make a significant contribution thanks to my passion for education and my extensive professional experience in finance and business intelligence. Thanks to my background, I can bring a practical and relevant perspective to the board's discussions.

My first contribution is to put my network and connections to work for Genium360 and its important mission. I'm committed to fostering interaction between students and industry professionals, thereby creating enriching learning opportunities.

I'll be leveraging my network in Montreal's English-speaking universities, where I'm already involved, to help create an inclusive environment so that we retain the best talent and ensure we provide them with the best services to drive innovation.

Par cette implication, je souhaite pouvoir représenter les jeunes professionnels en génie et de veiller à ce que les politiques adoptées soient sensibles à leurs enjeux, de même qu’aux facteurs ESG. Je souhaite mettre à contribution mes acquis relationnels et techniques provenant de mes implications auprès de plusieurs comités étudiants, tout en reflétant mon expérience terrain et diversifié acquis auprès de différents organismes, instances publiques et entreprises, me permettant d'avoir une certaine vue d'ensemble. À titre de membre, les services offerts par Genium360 m'ont permis de me construire une fondation personnelle et professionnelle solide depuis les dernières années, ce qui me pousse à promouvoir les bienfaits du support dont j’ai bénéficié, de même que de veiller à la continuité de la pertinence de Genium360 auprès des jeunes professionnels en génie.

Pourquoi avoir choisi le génie?

J’ai choisi le génie pour la diversité que celui-ci offre dans les choix de carrière, pour les beaux défis intellectuels qu’il représente et l’impact qu’il a sur la société à tous les niveaux. J’aime comprendre comment le monde fonctionne, pouvoir concrètement voir les choses, les modifier, les améliorer et le génie permet tout cela. De plus, le génie fait appel à toutes sortes de compétences telles que la rigueur, le sens critique, la capacité d’analyse, la gestion de projets qui sont des éléments clés dans tous les aspects de la vie.

Ma contribution à Genium360

Je possède une solide connaissance du secteur manufacturier ainsi que des besoins spécifiques des ingénieurs qui y évoluent; notamment en matière de formation. A ce titre, j’aimerais participer activement à l’enrichissement de l’offre de webinaires. Par ailleurs, je souhaite apporter mes idées pour la création de programmes innovants qui répondent aux enjeux sociétaux actuels, tels que le programme AGIR. Mon ambition est également de contribuer à renforcer la visibilité de Genium360. Enfin, je désire mettre à profit les compétences acquises lors de mon certificat en gouvernance pour contribuer à maintenir et promouvoir les principes d’une gouvernance rigoureuse et conforme aux meilleures pratiques.
